Real recognition for the record cabinet
The nomination for Business Innovator is based on an analysis of the company's innovative strength and public perception. Special mention was made of the record cabinet, which "sets new standards in furniture design" and combines functionality with aesthetic appeal. For the furniture makers, this is confirmation of their work at the interface between traditional craftsmanship and modern high-end requirements.
Criticism of "marketing packages" for awards
Despite the joy of the nomination, the M?belmacher deliberately decided against acquiring the official seal (here they describe the background in the sustainability blog). They would have had to pay several thousand euros to use the title for advertising purposes. "Our record cabinet impresses with its inner values and precision craftsmanship, not with a paid logo on the website," emphasizes herwig Danzer. "We prefer to invest this budget directly in the quality of our solid wood furniture, in sustainable projects or even records."
The team had a similar experience with the "Innovation Champion 2025" award from FOCUS-Business. Here, too, there were certificates with no meaning for customers unless expensive marketing packages were booked.
Transparency and genuine sustainability
The company's previous awards, such as the German Sustainability Award 2025, show that true recognition does not cost a fee. The furniture makers remain true to their path of total transparency: anyone who chooses a record cabinet or a solid wood kitchen from Unterkrumbach should know that the focus here is on honest craftsmanship and not "vanity metrics".
The award-winning record cabinet is far more than just a piece of storage furniture: it is a technically optimized solution for discerning vinyl collectors, made from regional wood and perfectly matched to modern hi-fi systems. The size, type of wood, style and technical features are designed together with the customer and lovingly made to order.

The company was founded in 1988 in Hersbruck near Nuremberg as a holistically oriented furniture manufacturer. In 1997, the newly founded Die M?belmacher GmbH, which now has around 15 employees, moved into the new ecological building in Unterkrumbach, where furniture and kitchens are made to order from solid wood from the region.
The range is complemented by the complete furnishing of kitchens, living and working environments, from lighting and upholstered furniture to curtains and even hi-fi systems made from local wood. They have been awarded the Sustainability Prize of the City of Nuremberg, named Bavaria's environmental ambassador, won the Thalhofer Prize and, since the 2005 Craftsmanship Prize, they have been one of the seven best German craft businesses. In 2010, they won the German Local Sustainability Award. In 2021 and 2022, they were nominated for the Lammsbr?u Sustainability Award and the German Sustainability Award "Local Hero", also in 2023 and 2024. In 2023, they won the IGR's Ergonomics Innovation Award, and in 2024, their workshop was named the most beautiful in Germany by the jury of the trade magazine DDS. They won the German Sustainability Award 2025 in the furniture and furnishings category.
