Nestled in the idyllic Usedom hinterland, the historic castle offers a perfect backdrop for a break from everyday life and a festive celebration of Christmas and New Year's Eve. With a diverse range of culinary events, cultural experiences, and individual arrangements, Water Castle Mellenthin establishes itself as a top destination for unforgettable winter moments. The castle, which includes comfortable hotel rooms in the main building and romantic rooms in the granary (Speicher), also features its own brewery, coffee roastery, distillery, a castle shop, and the Insel-Manufaktur, rounding off the experience.

Unique Events for Enjoyment and Entertainment

December at Water Castle Mellenthin is characterized by a series of special events held in the rustic vaults of the brewery, located in the right wing of the main building:

o Medieval Knight's Buffet: Every Tuesday, guests can expect a festive knight's feast with hearty dishes and a historical atmosphere.
o Brewer's Evening: On Thursdays, the brewmaster invites guests to a tasting of the castle's own beers, accompanied by savory dishes.
o Winter Feast Extravaganza: On Fridays and Saturdays, a rich buffet pampers guests with seasonal and regional delicacies.
o Traditional Brunch: Sundays offer a leisurely brunch, the perfect start to the day.

Additionally, every Wednesday at the Insel Manufaktur on Morgenitzer Berg, exclusive coffee tastings and rum tastings take place, perfectly complementing the culinary experience and providing insights into the craftsmanship.

Christmas Magic and New Year's Eve at the Castle

A special highlight in December is the 3rd Mellenthin Advent Market on December 13 and 14, 2025, at the Insel Manufaktur. This family-friendly event offers archery, donkeys, smoked fish, tractor rides, dart throwing, regional crafts, a large raffle, and cookie baking, as well as the opportunity for a selfie with Santa Claus. On December 25th and 26th, an exclusive Christmas menu from 2 PM to 8 PM at the water castle ensures a festive atmosphere. The turn of the year will also be celebrated appropriately: with a Grand Schnitzel Buffet on December 28, 2025, a Pizza & Pasta Evening on December 29, 2025 and finally a big New Year's Eve Gala Buffet. The New Year will then be welcomed culinary on January 1, 2026, with the traditional New Year's Brunch at Water Castle Mellenthin.

Mellenthin moated castle is a stylishly restored castle complex dating back to 1575 in the heart of the island of Usedom. With its own brewery, distillery, coffee roastery and the island manufactory, it invites you to live, celebrate, relax and unwind. Harmoniously integrated into the west wing of the complex, the hotel offers comfortable rooms furnished with attention to detail and with modern and generously designed bathrooms. The rooms in the main building are complemented by the attic. This is the former farm building of the castle, which offers its own room categories including comfort rooms with balcony.
