Langenselbold / Dresden, October 2025.
The secura protect group of companies took part in the nationwide "Shift Change" day of action, in which people with and without disabilities swapped jobs for a day. The aim of the initiative of the Federal Association of Workshops for People with Disabilities (BAG WfbM) is to break down barriers, promote understanding and create encounters at eye level.

For Sustainability Officer Hedda Stroh, taking part was a matter close to her heart:

"It was important to me that we didn't just swap workplaces, but really changed perspectives. Our employees should experience the challenges that people with disabilities face in their professional lives - and how valuable inclusion in practice is. It was particularly nice to see how open and empathetic everyone reacted."

Langenselbold: encounters in the office and insights into the BWMK service center

At the company headquarters in Langenselbold, two employees from Behindertenwerk Main-Kinzig (BWMK) spent a day working in the secura protect office. At the same time, one employee and two commercial trainees from secura protect visited the BWMK service center and got to know various areas of activity there - from recycling and document destruction to receiving goods.

At the end of the action day, the BWMK invited all participants to a joint welcome and closing event at the Brockenhaus in Hanau. There, the experiences of the day were shared, experiences were exchanged and the commitment of all participants was acknowledged - a wonderful end to a day full of encounters and mutual appreciation.

Dresden: Cooperation with Lebenshilfe and ZDF support

At the same time, the Dresden team led by division manager D. Pietzka took part in cooperation with Lebenshilfe e.V. Dresden. A security employee from secura protect worked for a day in a workshop for the disabled at Lebenshilfe, while a member of Lebenshilfe was able to get to know the security service alongside the security employee at TU Dresden.

The special highlight: a film team from ZDF was on site and filmed the shift change for _today's news_. [Click here for ZDF report]

A day that lingers on

For secura protect, the day of action was more than just a symbolic gesture - it was a living example of inclusion and mutual respect. The positive feedback from all teams encourages the company to develop a kind of internship program for people with disabilities in the future in order to create further opportunities and prospects.
