M·A·C volunteers on World AIDS Day

M·A·C Cosmetics’ employees joined EAC Network and prepared holiday meals for people with HIV/AIDS for World Aids Day on December 1st.

The group volunteered on behalf of the M·A·C AIDS Fund, which provides grants and support to programs that perform vital services for those living with HIV/AIDS.

EAC Network’s Nutrition Education and Food Services improves the lives of individuals living with HIV/AIDS through nutrition education and healthy food. The program runs the only food pantry for the HIV/AIDS population in Nassau County. The M·A·C AIDS Fund is a long-time supporter of the program, and has donated a total of $105,000 since 2010 to help people living with the disease.

The volunteers filled grocery bags with nutritious food, packed holiday gift bags, and decorated the food pantry waiting room to create a festive atmosphere to cheer up EAC Network’s clients.

“The M·A·C AIDS Fund is always enthusiastic about our efforts to help the HIV/AIDS community,” said Carol O’Neill, Senior Director of Senior and Nutritional Services. “The volunteers have given our clients a great gift for the holidays – nutritious food and the knowledge that people care about them.”

World AIDS Day encourages the global community to come together in support of people with HIV/AIDS. EAC Network is proud to take part in the international day of awareness.

The organization has grown tremendously since its inception in 1969 and now offers over 70 diverse programs that address many of society’s core problems.
