Global crude steel production in November 2024

In November 2024, the crude steel output of 71 countries/regions included in the statistics of the World Iron and Steel Association was 146.8 million tons, an increase of 0.8% over the same period last year.

I. Global crude steel production in November 2024
In November 2024, the crude steel output of 71 countries/regions included in the statistics of the World Iron and Steel Association was 146.8 million tons, an increase of 0.8% over the same period last year.

II. Output of crude steel by region
In November 2024, Africa's crude steel output was 1.8 million tons, down 5.0% from the same period last year;
Crude steel output in Asia and Oceania was 107.4 million tons, up 2.0% year on year;
EU (27 countries) crude steel output was 10.7 million tons, an increase of 3.9% over the same period;
The crude steel output of other European countries was 3.4 million tons, down 5.5% year on year;
Crude steel output in the Middle East was 5.1 million tons, an increase of 2.7% over the same period;
Crude steel production in North America was 8.5 million tons, down 5.2% year on year;
Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine produced 6.5 million tons of crude steel, down 7.8% year on year;
Crude steel output in South America was 3.4 million tons, down 3.4% year on year.
According to the data submitted by the above 71 countries/regions, their production in 2023 accounts for 98% of the global crude steel production. Countries and regions included in the table:
Africa: Algeria, Egypt, Libya, Morocco, South Africa, Tunisia
Asia and Oceania: Australia, China, India, Japan, Mongolia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam
EU (27 countries): Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden
Other European countries: Macedonia, Norway, Serbia, Turkey, UK Middle East: Bahrain, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Yemen
North America: Canada, Cuba, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, USA Russia and other CIS countries + Ukraine: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine
South America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela

III.The top ten countries in crude steel output.
In November 2024, China's crude steel output was 78 million 400 thousand tons, an increase of 2.5% over the same period;
India's crude steel output was 12 million 400 thousand tons, an increase of 4.5% over the same period;
Japan's crude steel output was 6.9 million tons, down 3.1% year on year;
US crude steel output was 6.4 million tons, down 2.8% year on year;
Russia's crude steel output is estimated to be 5.5 million tons, down 9.2% year on year;
Korea's crude steel output was 5 million 200 thousand tons, down 3.6% year on year;
German crude steel output was 2.9 million tons, an increase of 8.6% over the same period;
Turkey's crude steel output was 3 million tons, an increase of 0.7% over the same period;
Brazil's crude steel output was 2.8 million tons, up 1.9% year on year;
Iran's crude steel output was 3.1 million tons, up 0.1% year on year.
