BINDER Groundbreaking ceremony May 11, 2016

The groundbreaking ceremony to mark the start of construction of the BINDER COMPETENCE FACTORY has taken place. With this large-scale project, BINDER GmbH is setting the course for the future and investing in its Tuttlingen site.

Tuttlingen, Germany: With a celebratory event to mark the start of the initial construction phase of new production facilities, on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, BINDER GmbH heralded a new era in the company's history. In the presence of guests from the political and business spheres, Managing Director Peter M. Binder and his wife Ingrid, along with the architect Thomas Frauenkron, Lord Mayor of Tuttlingen Michael Beck, District Administrator Stefan Bär, members of the BINDER corporate management team Peter Wimmer, Michael Pfaff, and Jörg Nauel, project manager Thomas Luippold, and chairman of the works council Anton Rauh held the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for the BINDER COMPETENCE FACTORY. “With this large-scale construction project, we are setting the course for the future and laying the foundations for continued growth. This site will soon be the location of state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to provide maximum efficiency, quality, and productivity,” states Managing Director Peter M. Binder. By developing the company premises, this family-owned company is committing itself to the Tuttlingen site and securing jobs in the region for the long term. District Administrator Stefan Bär is confident about what the future holds: “Tuttlingen is really on the up. The innovative power demonstrated by our companies is huge and will have a positive effect on the entire region in the long term.”

The work will involve erecting a state-of-the-art plant over approximately 8,300 m² of space at the company's Tuttlingen site. The new production hall is where all sheet metal working and device carcass construction will take place in the future. The entire construction project is based on the concept of lean production. What this means is that all of the production processes have been meticulously analyzed and precisely aligned with one another in advance. They are tailored to customer requirements down to the smallest detail and planned based on their needs. This enables efficiency in the production structure to be maximized and a significant increase in productivity to be achieved, all while maintaining the high levels of quality customers have come to expect.

The areas of the existing facility that are freed up during the project will be used for expansion of the individual assembly areas. The construction of further new buildings is also in the pipeline for the coming years. The project is being planned and executed by renowned architectural firm RSE, based in the city of Kassel, in conjunction with Baumann Bauconsult GmbH & Co. KG.
