Student Exchange in the Southern Hemisphere: New Year's Eve from Argentina to South Africa

Lohmar, 31.12.23 - Approximately a hundred exchange students from International EXPERIENCE e.V. are celebrating their New Year's Eve party for 2023/24 in the warm South. The adolescents revel in ushering in the New Year in the traditional way of their host countries, with their host families, and their new-found friends:

* Argentina:

* The Argentinians shred old documents and paperwork on New Year's Eve and cast the paper fragments out the windows, like confetti, or a sort of snowfall in South America at 28 degrees Celsius.
* To symbolically liberate the upcoming year, papier-mâché dolls are crafted and subsequently incinerated.

* Australia:

* Sydney commemorates each month of the preceding year with a minute of fireworks.
* The people celebrate under the open sky at around 23 degrees Celsius.

* New Zealand:

* New Zealand, often at a beachside location at about 20 degrees Celsius, is one of the first countries to welcome the New Year.

* South Africa:

* The most grandiose public New Year's Eve celebration in Africa occurs in Cape Town, amidst 28 degrees of summertime weather. Live concerts are ubiquitous and families congregate to partake in the revelry and to barbecue.
* On New Year's Day, the beaches are teeming with people meeting up with camping chairs, picnic baskets, and buoyant music under the sun.
