The Lab has achieved accreditation for broader mechanical testing specimen preparation, metallurgical evaluation of welds, microstructure examination and elemental analysis. In addition, compression testing, high cycle fatigue, creep testing, crack propagation/crack growth testing, evaluation of welds for GE Aviation and Pratt & Whitney and more were added to our extensive list of previously approved mechanical, metallurgical, chemical, and specimen preparation services. The new accreditation certificate was issued with 18-month Merit Status and is valid until October 31, 2016.“Laboratory Testing is approved by the leading aerospace companies to provide materials testing, and in many cases, nondestructive testing and calibration. As a trusted “one-stop” supplier to their material and component manufacturers, it is important that LTI continue to offer all the services and provide the accreditation these customers need”, said Frank Peszka, Director of Quality. “Our commitment goes back over two decades, when the Performance Review Institute first began the Nadcap accreditation program.”
Laboratory Testing Inc. has been Nadcap accredited in materials testing since 1994 and has a scope that also covers test methods such as ICP analysis, atomic emission spectroscopy, wet chemistry, microhardness, corrosion, heat treating, stress rupture, elevated and room temperature tensile, fracture toughness, bend and impact testing. The Lab was first Nadcap accredited for nondestructive testing in 1992, and currently has a scope that includes liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle inspection and ultrasonic testing methods. This most recent Nadcap renewal for nondestructive testing is valid through January 31, 2016. Nadcap certificates are available on the LTI website.
Nadcap is the Performance Review Institute’s aerospace industry accreditation program, which helps ensure that aerospace manufacturers and suppliers meet certain quality requirements to support safety, quality and reliability of products and services within the realm of aerospace. The Performance Review Institute was created by SAE International in 1990 and performs their accreditation process in accordance with SAE Aerospace Standard AS7003.
