EquityMatch.co hosted a global webinar on "Reimagining

As part of the fifth series building up to the sixth private pitching session, EquityMatch.co, a smart investment platform in the UK, successfully hosted another knowledge-sharing webinar on the topic of "EdTech." The session was open to the public and was broadcast live on Zoom.

EquityMatch.co hosted a global webinar on "Reimagining the world of education through EdTech and eLearning" on September 8th, 2022, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. GMT. The webinar was selected by EquityMatch.co as a platform for six notable panelists to discuss their perspectives on EdTech. Massimiliano (Max) Sulpizi, the creator of "EquityMatch.co" and Managing Partner of HSMI-Corporate Advisory, served as the event's host. He has also held positions as a CEO, merchant banker, venture capitalist, and business owner. He has provided advice to businesses on transactions for more than €100 million and fundraising campaigns worth more than €50 million in the infrastructure, fashion, real estate, and technology industries.

The session kicked off with Saurav Dutta speaking on the topic of the future of our education system. He is an individual recognized for exceptional tenacity and inspiring leadership to help people thrive on their strengths as well as accepting difficult challenges. Mr. Saurav has 15 years of experience in successfully delivering multimillion-dollar global projects in aerospace, enterprise software as well as Private Equity. He is also the Founder of Linguaphile Skills Hub. During the session, he stated how the world is now seeing a tremendous shift in education. "We're seeing is definitely a tremendous shift, a paradigm shift of how we've been in school, and learned in education compared to what's happening now, which is definitely enabled by technology." He further elaborated on the area children must be taught to fit this change. "What I think we are going to have to teach us how to access the information in the right click."

Assistant Professor, Head of Digital Transformation at the University of Warwick, Susan Wakenshaw was also part of this valuable discussion. Dr. Susan is an individual who is actively involved in pedagogical research on how prepared students are for blended learning, the impact of digital technology on international students' learning styles, and their academic achievement. She has also worked as the research lead on many EPSRC-funded interdisciplinary research projects. Dr. Susan discussed and emphasized the importance of differentiating information, knowledge, and intelligence. "We should enable students to learn skills to understand what is real and what is needed in the industry. They also need to know what is the cutting-edge of this kind of development in the academic domain. Furthermore, they also need to learn how to be a critical thinker and apply it to practice," said Dr. Susan. She further elaborated on the need for research, teaching, and practices.

Tsepo Ngwenyaman also participated in this informative session. He is an impact investor and the head of Injini. Mr. Tsepo has a strong commitment to enhancing the standard, accessibility, and value of education in Sub-Saharan Africa. His career has always been anchored on impact entrepreneurship, first as a founder and then through the years working across three African-focused entrepreneurial support organizations, most recently directing the Social Entrepreneurship Impact Lab powered by FNB. Mr. Tsepo focused on how technology is making a more informed, effective, and knowledgeable world. He says, "Technology in education is not only viewed as a solution but rather as a tool to overcome some of the challenges around accessibility, and quality of education. Thus, there are tools that are designed to bridge the conceptual gaps."

The session was further enlightened by Yasmine Sabri, the Director of Studies, and Chair of the Department Teaching Committee at UCL. She is also an Assistant Professor in Humanitarian Logistics and oversees the department's teaching strategic planning and curriculum development across a number of multidisciplinary postgraduate and undergraduate programs. Yasmine's research investigates responsible supply chain design in high uncertainty environments. During the session, she led light on the topic of the ways to make education accessible and affordable. "We already use a lot of technology in education and one of the things we like to see is interoperability in different technological platforms and applications we use. This is because sometimes these systems do not communicate with each other, and it needs to be streamlined," said Yasmine.

Dr. Grace Togun Olugbodi spoke on an engaging topic of gamification making education more interesting and attractive. She is the Founder and Creator of the multi-award-winning 'Race to Infinity' Maths Board Games Series. Her passion is to develop solutions that support teachers and parents in using unique techniques that make math enjoyable, boost confidence, lessen arithmetic anxiety, and improve life prospects for students. She and her team are currently digitizing their game Race to Infinity and developing an augmented-reality gamified app to identify children's math weaknesses. "Games can be used in assessments where the whole technological aspect comes in. This is because you can actually assess children through games. So, all of a sudden you have an approach that is not traditional teaching but also some gamification which can support the classroom teaching," said Dr. Grace. Thus, she was able to speak on how gamification has the potential to make education a fun activity while boosting the enthusiasm to learn.

Adding on to the same topic, Giles Alexander spoke on the other side of gamification and certain changes to be made. He was able to explain how gamification can be goal driven, which has also had the potential to make children not see the bigger picture. Mr. Giles is the Founder and CEO of Pandita. He is also an experienced technology executive, who is enthusiastic about the potential for technology to have a positive impact on people's lives. Furthermore, he has had experience in writing software to design commercialization strategies. Mr. Giles stated, "I would love to see educational toys including educational toys for adults. The toy would not have a goal in it but instead, you create your own goal. So, that kind of opens into interesting and great things about teaching through games."

The webinar was a tremendous success, providing attendees with pertinent details about the EdTech Industry. EquityMatch.co has scheduled comparable events for 2022. Additionally, participants will learn how to register for a free EquityMatch.co-membership, which offers them access to marketing and promotion choices as well as direct contact with investors.
