ReporTwitters.com Launches Reality Style News Reporting Service

Journalistic projects involving a reality style element are few and far between. That's why we at reporTwitters.com have created one. We are launching reporTwitters.com, a new site where freelance journalists can upload articles accompanied by Twitter feeds documenting how they personally go about reporting the news.

It’s a reality style approach to news reporting and this concept is unique, even though the blogosphere has opened the door for personalised journalism. The borderline between a reporter’s personal tastes and objectivity is getting thinner and audiences want to know more. So the time is ripe for a reality take on journalism.

Freelance journalists’ twitter feeds will be shown in their portfolio and they can publish parts of the feeds with individual articles. Editors are encouraged to include relevant Twitter feeds with articles when they decide to publish. They can also request stories directly from freelancers.

Twitter is a microblogging tool that’s wildly popular around the globe. Users answer one question ‘What are you doing?’ in a 140 character line. They can send the messages to followers via the web and sms. At the moment there are some 900 journalist Twitters.

ReporTwitters welcomes freelance journalists and offers them an interesting way to exploit the full potential of Twitter feeds professionally free of charge. For instance, setting up an interview on Twitter provides great stage-setting potential for creating an audience’s ‘insider experience’. A journalist can Twitter about all the reasons why a topic is relevant. Or why they want to interview somebody. This way a reporter can build clout even before they set out to write. Audiences will love the enhanced reports.

reporTwitters has just launched, so we're new. It is the brainchild of London-based Angelique van Engelen, a freelance journalist who runs www.contentclix.com, a writing agency, and Marin Kamara, a programmer in London.
