The new "pergola cubic" from markilux fits in particularly well with today's extremely popular cubic design.

The new "pergola cubic" from markilux fits in particularly well with today's extremely popular cubic design.

The new "pergola cubic" from markilux is perfect for cubic architecture

On the one hand, curved, organic shapes are increasingly popular in the world of living and furnishing. On the other hand, cubes and angles have also had their place in the world of design and architecture for years. According to markilux, there is also a great demand for awnings with an angular cover cassette, which emphasise cubic architectural style. In response to this, the awning specialist is now entering the market with its new "pergola cubic".

Over the years, markilux has built up a diverse "pergola" product range. The awning supported by two front posts is already available in three different versions: from classic through compact to XXL format. Now the manufacturer is adding the "pergola cubic" to its range. It is based on the technology of the classic model, but sports an angular cover cassette. The new awning thus focuses on an even more successful interplay with minimalist architecture in Bauhaus style.

Model based on proven technology
"With our latest pergola development, the focus is very much on the shape. We are so convinced of the underlying technology, that we adopted it almost exactly," explains Michael Gerling, Director of R&D and Production. The "pergola cubic" thus has the same attributes as the classic model. It shades a good 30 square metres with a single field unit. The tracfix system guides the cover flush in the side rails. According to Mr Gerling, optimum cover tension is provided in any extended position thanks to a tensioning system with integrated gas pistons. This makes the awning very stable in wind. Thus, the matrix allows for a width and a projection of up to six metres. Up to five awning field units can be combined to cover even larger areas.

A further light option on offer
The awning is delivered ex works with a standard motor. However, it can also be configured with a radio motor. "As is the case with our 'classic model', a number of options make it possible to equip the awning to suit the customer's needs," says Michael Gerling. These include various LED systems in the guide tracks or on the cover support tube, some of which can be combined. There is now a further LED-Line under the cassette, which offers even more variety in lighting effects. Further options include adjustable posts which ensure good water drainage, even with only a slight tilt of the cover surface. Furthermore, a manually or solar-powered shadeplus awning. In addition, you can choose between a variant that is firmly fixed in the ground or opt for stabilisation boxes that secure the awning.

Cover transport with the new markilux 7800
In order to match the new sun and weather protection to the cubic design language, the glass canopy awning markilux 8800, which takes care of transporting the cover, had to be adapted because it has a round cassette. From now on, the markilux 7800 with an angular cover cassette complements this awning type. As with all other pergola variants, the "cubic" model is also suitable for combining with other awning systems for protection against wind or rain and to shade different configurations. These include the markilux models construct and syncra, the vertical blinds 876 and 776 tracfix as well as the 790 side screen. "With this additional product, we are rounding off the 'pergola' programme even further," Michael Gerling points out.

Plain colours are now the pattern of choice for awning covers For many years, the classic block stripe in a limited number of colour variations set the tone for awning covers. But today, customers seem to prefer plain colours. As is the case at markilux. The awning specialist picked up on the monochrome trend dominating the home and fashion scene at an early stage. From block stripe to modern awning cover pattern
markilux reflects current trends in awning cover fabrics For decades, the classic block stripe dominated the typical look of an awning. But today, there are mainly plain-coloured covers adorning patios and balconies. Sometimes with special weaving effects, sometimes with special textured finishes, complemented by modern striped patterns. This changed look reflects the dominant, monochrome trend in the world of living and fashion. Manufacturer markilux has been observing this for years and

A multi-talent for the conservatory
The awning fabric "perfotex" offers multiple forms of protection Conservatories and open glass canopies on the patio are in need of solar protection. Ideally the shading used for this should be fitted above the surface of the glass. This ensures that a large percentage of the UV radiation does not reach the inside in the first place. With the special fabric "perfotex", awning expert markilux offers a solar protection fabric that

From the idea to the start of production
markilux products are planned meticulously. And that is certainly also true of the cassette awning MX-3, the result of around two years of development work Generally speaking, ideas for new products don't just fall from the sky and it is rare for a new product to follow a vision in its pure form. Usually the creation of a new product involves a longer process of exact observation and analysis which ultimately
