Vanna White to Host Lion Brand Yarn Company Fashion Show at

New York, NY – January 9, 2013 -- Lion Brand Yarn Company will be participating at the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Winter Trade Show in Anaheim, CA from January 12 to January 15. For the 16th year in a row, Vanna White will be hosting the Lion Brand fashion show to be held on Sunday, January 13.  Vanna White has been a spokeswoman for Lion Brand Yarn for 19 years and has signature lines of yarn: Vanna’s Choice®, Vanna’s Choice® Baby, Vanna’s Glamour, and Vanna’s Sequins. This year, the Lion Brand CHA fashion show will offer an extraordinary mix of fashion forward garments by emerging design talent discovered through top fashion schools from around the world.
The up-and-coming designers represented in Lion Brand’s show are from The Academy of Art and Fashion Institute of Technology in the U.S; Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Israel; Parsons Paris in France; Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, The Glasgow School of Art, and Royal College of Art in the United Kingdom; University of Applied Sciences and Arts Luzern and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Basel in Switzerland; Hochschule für Technik und Wirtschaft in Berlin; and The Royal Danish School of Design in Denmark.
“This show will demonstrate that inventive, stunning, high-fashion garments can be created using yarns that Lion Brand Yarn Company produces and that these garments would be fitting for the major fashion runways of Paris, Milan or New York,” said David Blumenthal, CEO of Lion Brand Yarn Company. The Lion Brand design team will pair these garments with wearable, easy-to-knit and crochet garments for the craft yarn consumer to create and enjoy.
Lion Brand will also be introducing three new yarns at the show: Imagine, a net ribbon yarn that can be turned into a scarf without knitting skills in 5 minutes; Romance, a soft and sleek faux fur yarn; and Bellini, a textured fringe yarn.
