Vanna White Yarn from Lion Brand

Vanna White Yarn from Lion Brand

Anaheim, California - January 27, 2007 - Vanna White, famous as a result of her role on Wheel of Fortune, launched a new yarn today at the annual convention of the Craft and Hobby Association in Anaheim California. Her new yarn, Vanna’s Choice, is marketed by Lion Brand Yarn Company. Vanna’s Choice is a premium quality basic yarn in a palette of colors that was developed so that all of the colors work together, making it easy for consumers to select beautiful combinations of colors in their favorite shades.

Vanna’s hair dresser taught her to crochet on the set of Wheel of Fortune. She enjoys the craft as a way of productively using her downtime during filming to create hand-made gifts for friends and family. She connected with Lion Brand Yarn Company 13 years ago, when that company’s president, David Blumenthal, saw her on the Tonight Show, where she mentioned that she was a crocheter. He contacted her and she has been a spokesperson for the company ever since, hosting their annual fashion show at the Craft and Hobby Association each year.

“I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Vanna for 13 years and found her to be a warm, lovely person who is down-to-earth, genuine and caring. We worked with her to develop this yarn that reflects those special qualities,” said Blumenthal.

Patterns for Vanna’s Choice will include afghans, which is Vanna White’s favorite type of item to crochet, as well as baby items, accessories and garments.
