Ottobock to provide Technical Service for athletes competing at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games.

At the XI International Investment Forum in Sochi, German company Ottobock, leading provider of innovative technology and services for people with limited mobility, became the exclusive provider of technical service for athletes competing at the 2014 Paralympic Games in Sochi. The agreement was signed by Dmitry Chernyshenko, President of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, and Oliver Jacobi Ottobock Moscow.

Within the framework of the signed agreement, Ottobock will provide a team of expert technicians to perform maintenance and repair of prostheses, orthoses, and wheelchairs used by athletes in competition as well as daily life.

The agreement was signed less than two weeks after the conclusion of the London 2012 Paralympic Games, where 80 Ottobock experts from 18 countries performed maintenance and repair services for the 4,200 athletes.
Ottobock has provided technical service to the Paralympic Games since 1988. This in depth and unique expertise can now be counted on by the organizers of the Paralympic Games in Sochi, where company representatives will offer services for the repair and maintenance of prosthetic and orthopedic products for all Paralympic athletes participating in the competitions at the Mountain and Coastal Clusters.

Oliver Jakobi noted: "Support of the Paralympic Movement has long since become an integral part of our company culture . The Paralympic Games demonstrate in an inspiring way that people with limited mobility can not only live an active life but can also achieve impressive athletic successes. For almost 25 years, Ottobock specialists have repaired the equipment of thousands of athletes at Paralympic Games and other sporting events around the world . I am convinced that our experts' experience will help properly support the Paralympic athletes at the Winter Paralympics in Sochi in 2014 and therewith contribute to the overall success of the Games."

The President of the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee, Dmitry Chernyshenko, stated: "I am glad that the technical equipment supplier for the Paralympic athletes is the world-renowned company Ottobock. The reliability and high quality of this company's services cannot be doubted - it has successfully collaborated with the International Paralympic Committee for more than 20 years. A common goal unites the Sochi 2014 Organizing Committee and the Ottobock Company - to attract as much attention as possible to the successes of the Paralympic athletes and to the theme of the Paralympic Movement."
