So, little by little, we have been able to adapt it to their needs. In the final analysis, it was our intention to pass on as many qualified leads to our specialist dealers as possible, so that the final sale could be made.’ In the current relaunch, markilux has concentrated on streamlining the navigation system, making internal links more customer friendly and offering helpful information in a more focussed manner. This is intended to speed up the process of finding the most suitable product.
Access to the website takes place via the homepage in large-format photo style. These either guide the visitor directly to the products or do so via an overview of the various awning types. ‘As the homepage functions as a type of calling card, we use it to present the main characteristics of our brand such as modern design, high quality and the option of being able to personalise our products’, Ms Berning emphasizes. At the end of the homepage, links guide the visitor to the contact form, to an offer to make a download, to the search function for a specialist dealer and to the awning finder, which is also linked to other pages in the website.
Well-thought-through link structure
Alternatively, it is also possible to search for solar and all-weather protection using the compact page navigation system by product category. ‘In this menu, we offer in addition other useful information, links to complementary products, optional extras and to our solar protection fabrics or to sub-categories that further focus the search procedure.’ The link structure makes it easy for the end consumer to find the most suitable awning or roller blind and to configure it according to their own personal taste. Online tools such as the Configurator and the Awning Fabric Finder play their part in achieving this. They can be found under the heading ‘Service’ on the homepage when the menu has been opened.On this level of the website, too, it is possible to search for specialist dealers in the vicinity, get in contact with our customer service and create a customer account. Christiane Berning is impressed with the new website: ‘Visually, at first glance not that much might appear to have changed. But, the structure is now much clearer and therefore more user friendly. Now, we just hope that this is appreciated by the visitors to our website!’
