After the trials and tribulations of the past 18 months, domestic tourism is looking forward to a much needed boom as holidaymakers opt for staycations rather than risk falling foul of the rules around foreign holidays. Venues across the country will be hoping to make up for lost time in attracting visitors. With English Tourism Week running up until the end of May, let’s hope the weather plays ball!

Alongside visiting attractions for the sheer pleasure of it, decking company Millboard is suggesting such visits can be combined with a little research by those contemplating adding a deck to their gardens. Their Marketing Director, Caroline Birdsall, explains…

‘There are several sites people can visit where they can see our decking in situ. Although we use every means for helping people to experience Millboard decking – from sending free samples to our new online Visualiser tool – nothing beats seeing and walking on it to understand just what an amazing surface it provides.’

Millboard is selected for its authentic wood look, durability, ease of cleaning and slip-resistance, the last being an especially important consideration to those responsible for the health and safety of thousands of visitors.

And as the company says, it also leaves the forests intact: with no wood content involved (and many of its constituents being recycled from other manufacturing processes) no valuable trees are lost, and the result is a decking surface that significantly outperforms the timber that inspired it.

English venues featuring Millboard:

Chester Zoo (Coppered Oak and Vintage Weathered Oak)

Kew Gardens (Burnt Cedar, left, and Embered Oak)

Legoland (Vintage Weathered Oak)

Woolacombe Bay Holiday Park (Coppered Oak)

For those unable to get to these venues, samples of Millboard can be ordered online from Millboard at millboard.co.uk, which is where the new Visualiser tool is also available for trying out different combinations of Millboard in a range of CGI settings.
