The ‘MX-1’ and ‘MX-1 compact’ by markilux become one

The ‘MX-1’ and the ‘MX-1 compact’ are - according to their manufacturer markilux - awnings of a superlative order. Their futuristic design, their size and their many technological highlights have been impressing customers for five years already, especially those who are enthusiastic about architecture and modern product design. But now the two models are to meld into one. The reason being: the compact version with its somewhat more delicate appearance has won over the market.

The ‘MX-1 compact’ is almost identical to the ‘MX-1’ in as much as it offers the same technological standard. But its body is slightly more graceful as it does not have an integrated canopy. The only thing that was missing was a lighting option in the cassette. But that has changed. The ‘MX-1 compact’ now offers LED lighting integrated into the cassette as well. As its more slender form has appealed more to the end consumer, markilux has decided to offer only this model in the future. In 2021 the product name will remain as it is. But from 2022 the awning will be known as the ‘MX-1’’.

Designed for the design lover

According to Michael Gerling, Director of Production and R&D at markilux, over the past five years, both versions have written their own success story on the basis of their technology, size and stylish appearance. They have received no less than four design awards. And since 2020 the product has been available with yet another eyecatcher. As in the markilux ‘MX-3’, the front styling profile is available in classy, real metal coatings. The new look underlines the exclusivity of the product. Mr Gerling emphasises: ‘From the start, we designed the 'MX-1' and the 'MX-1 compact' so that they could be personalised in as many ways as possible. Cable conduits for various lighting systems so that the electrics can be well hidden have already been added. And a shadeplus drop valance has also been integrated into the front profile.’ On top of that, the product offers a fine selection of colours for both housing and front styling profile. The awning is aimed at aficionados of good product design and modern architecture. Above all the majestic colours and futuristic shape of the cassette immediately catch the eye.

The model offers a large number of extras

And furthermore, it comes with well-thought-through technology and many comfort features. For example, the front styling panel can be backlit with LED lighting. The front profile can also have LED spotlights integrated into it. The new lighting built into the underside of the cassette complements that option. The ‘MX-1 compact’ can be operated by radio remote control or it can be linked to a home automation system. Powerful folding arms and the bionic tendon - developed by markilux - make it possible to shade an area of up to 30 square metres and keep it very low in maintenance. High quality materials and coatings give it a very long service life. If it were up to Michael Gerling, this exclusive solar shading system, in the shape of the ‘MX-1 compact’, would assume a permanent place as a high-end product in the range of the awning manufacturer for many years to come.
