Developing awnings that defy wind and weather and bring glamour to houses with modern chic is something that has to be learned. And this is exactly what awning expert markilux is committed to.

According to the manufacturer, almost 50 years of tinkering plus a wealth of know-how have gone into its products. Just recently, the 1.5 millionth awning left the factory - an MX-3 , a statement about state-of-the-art design in awnings. And also about many large and small steps of change. Both technically and visually. “And about expertise,” adds Michael Gerling, Director of R&D and Production at markilux: “We have been playing with shapes and colours all these years. We understood what customers wanted and turned the awning into a timeless design piece.” Giving shape to something is an exciting journey on which you learn a lot and create something new. markilux has used this journey to transform what was formerly a simple product – the awning – into a high-tech accessory “Made in Germany”. The MX-3 is a good example of this. With its gentle curves and front profile, which is available in shiny real metal or in powerful colours, the model brings modern chic to patios and balconies. And lighting systems, such as the LED-Line or LED-Spots, ensure a cosy atmosphere in the evening.
