Works of art for house and garden
With its 16 exciting, 'smart art' patterns, awning specialist markilux is bringing art and awning covers together.
Awning covers protect you from the sun, wind and rain. They colourfully decorate your house and garden and emphasise one's own style of furnishing. Now there are even fabrics that allow art to be applied to an awning cover.
The 16 new 'smart art' fabrics from awning manufacturer markilux showcase flower blossoms, leaves, dots, geometrical shapes and motifs reminiscent of modern acrylic painting. The patterns are printed digitally onto the awning cover material using weatherproof and water-repellent latex dyes. This technology really does make the colours glow.
Conserving the environment
And the attractive pattern is even visible from underneath the cover. To achieve this, the fabric is pre-treated in a special way. This allows the thin, slightly elastic layer of latex to adhere permanently to the top of the fabric. It is particularly smooth, so the material stays clean longer in comparison with other printed outdoor fabrics. In addition, the awning covers roll up really well and are completely immune to the effects of wind and weather. Moreover, the digital textile print, with its water-based, odourless colours, is extremely environmentally friendly.
Inspired by art
The highly expressive, graphic motifs employed in the 'smart art' collection were inspired by artists of the 19th and 20th centuries. Silhouettes, relief techniques, overly dimensioned mobiles, die stamping and abstract images served as sources of inspiration. The exclusive images are found in both a coloured version and a discreet, plain grey tone. Awning covers with patterns of this ilk are quite new and therefore make it possible for a completely individual style to be created. As art in all its broad diversity can now be applied to an awning cover.
