Unique Local Redcliffe Fundraiser – A Facebook for Business Social Media Workshop
Business owners need Facebook Training, Local Groups need Fundraising – Win,WinRedcliffe, Queensland, 23 April 12 — Redcliffe Marketing Labs is running a Facebook for Business 1 Day Workshop on 5th of May 2012 at the Scarborough Beach Resort to raise funds for local Redcliffe community organisations.
This workshop follows on from a previous one held in 2011 which raised over $1300 for the Rotary Club of Redcliffe City and Peninsula Animal Aid.
The workshop is geared toward progressive local Redcliffe area business owners looking to increase their visibility online and reach more of their customers through the Facebook social media channel. It will be ‘hands on’ with access to a wifi connection.
“With 1 in 2 Australians now on Facebook, Government Departments such as Queensland Police Service using the medium extremely effectively and the low cost to get started there has never been a better time for business owners to get started” says Mick Cullen, one of the workshop presenters and owner of Redcliffe Marketing Labs.
Gen Y business owners have been out flanking older businesses by using Facebook to build up a fan base and hence a marketing database. One example is the success that the Kogan brand has had at the expense of the more traditional retail chain Harvey Norman.
Larger businesses are now making up for lost time and investing heavily in not just Facebook but other social media channels too.
“The key advantage that people attending this Facebook for Business Workshop are gaining is ‘speed’.” indicated Michael Hanson, co-presenter. “Discretionary time for any business owner or executive is almost zero. Time spent researching and learning Facebook by trial and error can add up to a significant opportunity cost.”
Add to this the:
breadth of material covered in the 1 day training,
chance to network with other local Facebook Page admins,
discounted cost,
2 weeks of online follow up support by the presenters(unheard of elsewhere), and
local Redcliffe training venue,
and the workshop represents a strong value proposition for switched on and forward thinking Redcliffe peninsula business owners. Available seats are limited to ensure the ability for personal attention.
Then there is the fundraising aspect.
Through providing local community groups the opportunity to promote the workshop, sponsorship by the Scarborough Beach Resort via discounted venue fees and donation of time by the event speakers it has been possible to direct money towards fundraising.
$120 from each ticket sold goes back to supporting several local organisations.
If local sporting clubs/charities/community groups/schools want to take part as a fundraising beneficiary then they should contact Redcliffe Marketing Labs via info@redcliffemarketinglabs.com.au
