Toggle switch from Schaltbau GmbH wins design award
The series K toggle switch from Schaltbau GmbH has won the iF product design award.
The series K toggle switch is primarily used in the driver’s console of rail vehicles, cranes and cable cars. The series excels not only with its mix of sophisticated materials but also due to its new technical features: Four different handle styles, central 30 mm round-hole fitting, tool-free, simple-to-use clamp fastening, up to 8 switching elements with various types of electrical connection, plus the ability to illuminate the ring. It has a mechanical endurance of over 500,000 operating cycles. It complies with the UIC612 standard, which allows it to be optimally integrated into any driver’s console.

Founded in 1929, the company has nine locations of its own and more than 60 sales partners worldwide. The company has been certified as a Q1 supplier to Deutsche Bahn (German Rail) since 2008. Schaltbau GmbH: new high-performance charging connector for industrial trucks
Munich, 13 June 2013: The new LV-HPC (High Power Connector) charging connector made by Schaltbau meets the DIN VDE 0623-589 standards for a greater current-carrying capacity. The series is therefore suitable for state-of-the-art fast chargers such as those used with industrial trucks. A red-coded keying pin signifies operation at 120, 250 and 400 amperes for charging wet-cell batteries and serves to prevent mismating at the same time.
