New Coswin 8i customer in the Brazilian power market
BMTE is a special-purpose entity set up to build, operate and maintain the first 800 kV UHVDC (Ultrahigh-Voltage Direct Current) electricity transmission line in Latin America, transporting electricity generated by the Belo Monte Power Plant in the northern part of Brazil directly to the load center in the country's southeast region. BMTE is a consortium of China's State Grid Brazil Holding (51%) and Brazilian utilities Furnas (24.5%) and Eletronorte (24.5%).
