Montech’s transfer system has a modular construction and its typical applications are in logistics and assembly automation. The customer portfolio of the Swiss conveyor specialist includes several automotive OEM suppliers.

On the transfer system, the workpieces are fixed on customized or standardized workpiece holders made of high-strength plastic (PET) and are carried on single-belt conveyors. The system automatically carries parts from one belt to another, linking different workstations along the assembly line. At each station, a belt with a maximum length of 10 meters is installed and the customer can add an intermediate buffer.

The workpiece holders are available in four dimensions with up to 5 kg capacity. The curved sections of the transfer system are designed in such a way that the workpieces can accumulate without causing any disturbance or interference. Workpieces are accessible from below for any operation and the motor position can be freely selected.

In assembling and machining operations (pressing and screwing), the longitudinal transfer positioning device ensures ±0.05 mm positioning accuracy and enables to apply high loads on the workpiece, up to 14 N/mm2. When the workpiece holder is placed, there is no friction between the belt and the workpiece holder.

“Our customers appreciate the modular construction based on few components, because they can develop their automation process gradually and introduce subsequent changes and modifications at very affordable costs," says Gianluca Aloisi, Sales Manager. According to Aloisi, further benefits include quick design and flexibility in terms of construction and delivery, normally within four weeks.

Companies interested in the transfer system can request more information by calling +41 (0)32 6815500 or visiting the Web site at www.montech.com.
