25 May 2020 - after nearly three decades spent exploring the world, settling in Costa Rica, ex-Japan, Gary Numan and Sinead O'Connor guitarist, Robert Dean is returning to music and releasing his first new album since 1990.

Partnering with his friend, Costa Rican musician Isaac Moraga, as 'Light Of Day', the band are releasing their debut album 'Dimensions' on 5 June 2020 on a new, not-for-profit label [last word music].

Light of Day's music is hard to categorize. Within the confines of the album's structure there are elements of ambient, progressive rock, electronica, funk, latin and a strong empathy for past pop music genres in general, all sometimes within the contents of one track! To say it is eclectic would be an understatement yet it is also a cohesive work where all the elements are in harmony with each other. It is positive, uplifting and eye opening in its scope and sense of adventure. An incredibly ambitious epic journey for the listener and well worth taking.

The performances are sublime and the self-production is crystal clear using the experience learned across several decades within the music business and the self-confidence of knowing when something is 'right': the music bears up to repeated plays and stays in the memory as a result, as all good music, performances and production should.

The album has been produced, arranged and mixed by Robert and Isaac with assistance from Ed Buller (Suede, Psychedelic Furs), amongst others. Vinyl masters have been created by one of the world leaders in audio mastering, Alchemy Mastering.

Renowned Costa Rican artist Bosco Mattel has provided the unique original artwork with the final design by the legendary Ryan Art. Initial distribution is being undertaken by Burning Shed, an expert in sourcing & distributing eclectic yet commercial music to a base of over 100,000 fans.

The album is available in three physical formats that are reducing the use of plastic to the minimum possible with no cd trays or plastic wrap used.

Digisleeve CD
Limited black vinyl LP
Very limited transparent Amber vinyl LP

After the three-decade absence from the world of music, Robert Dean is understandably excited about his return:

"Since moving to Costa Rica I've had a full life away from the music business as an artist and ornithologist. It's fair to say that I didn't really miss the 'business' at all. But I never left music behind and have been following both new and old talent from around the world all the way along as well as playing in local bands with my friends. When Isaac and I became friends something just clicked at I knew that we could make an excellent noise together. I really like what we've created - it is strong yet completely different to anything either of us have done before."

Isaac Moraga, a veteran of the Costa Rican live circuit, is equally thrilled:

"The music that Robert and I have created with some of our friends is much more then I ever expected. We've created something that mixes classic and experimental rock from around the world, infused it with the peaceful, yet vibrant, spirit of Costa Rica that makes life so wonderful here and the result is powerful and strong music that, I think, challenges what you would expect as 'rock music' in the 2020s."

Soundtrack composer, Jeff Bernstein has this to say:

"...it became evident that I was listening to something very special and pretty far removed from what I may have expected. What initially blew me away was not only the songwriting and beautiful tapestry but the polished clarity of the mixes and mastering which you would only expect from a top end recording studio...the tracks became real earworms that stuck in my head for days to come."
