New customer for WOLFFKRAN in Frankfurt - FABER & SCHNEPP buys its first WOLFF
Frankfurt – August 2011. The municipal fire department of Frankfurt is expanding its facilities with a new training center situated adjacent to the current training and administration building. The construction work is scheduled to be completed by fall 2012. In order to realize this project, the mid-sized construction company FABER & SCHNEPP Hoch- und Tiefbau GmbH & Co. KG in Gießen, which received the contract for carrying out the construction work, purchased a WOLFF 6031.8 clear flat-top crane in July this year. This marked the beginning of a successful business relationship.Efficiency and flexibility
For the construction firm FABER & SCHNEPP, which is known for its industrial and residential constructions, prefabricated concrete constructions, and canal and road constructions, this crane is their first WOLFF and a “completely new experience”, says Thomas Matern, a site manager at FABER & SCHNEPP. “All the feedback I have received so far about the 6031.8 clear from the employees on the construction site has been positive”, says Matern. He also reports that a foundation of trust was established between the crane manufacturer and construction company within a very short time. “We hope to be able to conduct more joint projects with FABER & SCHNEPP in future”, says Carsten Druske, Branch Manager of the Dortmund office of WOLFFKRAN GmbH. The new partnership was sealed by the joint crane installation, whereby two riggers from WOLFFKRAN supported two employees of FABER & SCHNEPP in assembling the WOLFF 6031.8 clear on the construction site.
Further assembly training in Heilbronn
The trolley jib crane is scheduled to be dismantled again in November 2011. The riggers at FABER & SCHNEPP will receive further intensive training in Heilbronn beforehand. “The employees of the construction company will be familiarized with the precise process and will learn what to look out for during assembly and dismantling. The objective being that they are able to handle the crane without the assistance of WOLFF personnel in future”, explains Mr. Druske.
Cost-effectiveness and competitiveness
Prior to the purchasing decision, employees of the company FABER & SCHNEPP visited a construction site on the Faerberstreet in Dusseldorf to see a WOLFF crane in action. “The customer was immediately impressed. They then took just one week to decide on the purchase, which is incredibly fast”, says Druske proudly. There were many arguments in favor of purchasing the red WOLFF: It is very good cost-effectiveness, simple and fast assembly, and the availability of assembly training to name but three. “The 6031.8 clear is a very economical crane for its size”, confirms Druske. Another benefit of this crane with a top-slewing jib is its maximum load-bearing capacity of 8.5 tonnes and maximum jib length of 65 meters. When equipped with a 845 FU or 875 FU hoisting gear, this model delivers 45 or 75 Kilowatts of power respectively. These characteristics make it particularly suitable for high-rise construction projects.
Brand new training center for the Frankfurt fire department
The administration and training building of the Frankfurt fire department, located on a 59,200 sq.ft (5,500 sq.m) building lot in the district of Eckenheim, is to be extended. An additional training hall, along with a training area and individual buildings for fire department drills and a realistic simulation of deployments and firefighting operations, is scheduled to be built on the fire department street site by fall 2012.
