The new MindMeister

The new MindMeister

Leading online collaboration and visualization tool, MindMeister has recently released their newest and most dramatic user interface update since the company’s inception in 2007. This new interface not only introduces a new look and feel to the product, but also incorporates years of carefully studied user feedback and overall site interaction, resulting in the most user-friendly version to date.

In addition to focusing on ease of use and simplicity, the latest version of MindMeister brings a host of new features driven by user feedback. Amongst the top requested user features was the ability to export to multiple Microsoft office formats. MindMeister now offers users the ability to export their creations to both MS Word and PowerPoint formats, with options to generate title pages, a table of contents, and image export.

Focusing on functionality, MindMeister has addressed a number of issues found in previous designs, primarily concerning large mind maps. Up to 20 new zoom levels have been added, making it easy for users to quickly zoom in/out on specific portions of their maps, all the while keeping the “big picture” in mind. For users that choose to share their creations on their own platform via MindMeister’s embedding feature, they’ll now find an option to zoom their creations to fit a user specified frame size. Rounding out the user-friendly features, MindMeister has included a “keep aligned” feature that will automatically optimize the space used by users’ creations, eliminating gaps between individual branches, and ending the need to reposition items.

From a visual standpoint, the new MindMeister is sure to please. They’ve introduced 12 new map themes that include gradient, shadow, and background images options. Likewise, users will now find a live line drawing feature, making it much easier to visualize which branch connections will display where and how. MindMeister’s visually powerful Bézier connections now feature user specified axes that allow content to be highlighted and connected, without overwriting any other content.

The latest version of MindMeister also introduces a unique, new feature; the Midas Touch. Subscribers of MindMeister’s Business plan will have the ability to automatically convert other collaborators to a Pro plan account holder (for that specific shared map), allowing this collaborator access to MindMeister’s full feature set including adding images and a wide format of attachments, all while not counting towards the user’s Basic account map limit.

With an additional 200 enhancements and features, the latest version of MindMeister is sure to improve not only personal and professional productivity, but adds great visual appeal, making MindMeister the top choice of individuals seeking to visually clarify complex issues.

“This is something that we’ve been looking at for quite some time,” comments Managing Director Michael Hollauf. “We’ve asked users’ for their opinions and thoughts, as well as how exactly they use our product; which features they use the most often, and which they don’t. We’ve gathered all of this information and translated it into a version of MindMeister that’s sure to please just about every type of data visualizer out there.”

Munich, Germany and Vienna, Austria based MindMeister is the leading cloud-based collaboration and data visualization solution. Over 90 million ideas have been generated by individuals and businesses around the world using MindMeister’s unique, award-winning interface. With a patent-pending ‘History View’, users can review each change that was made to their creation, including an unlimited undo/redo feature. MindMeister is hosted in the cloud and runs in all modern web browsers without the need for an installation. Mobile applications for Android and iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch, as well as an Offline Mode allow users to work on their ideas wherever they are.
