Press release from: The Infinity School

November 2019: The Infinity School, Greater Noida West.
The Infinity School in Greater Noida West celebrated Literacy Month this November, to encourage their students to read, create, and explore new worlds. The celebrations were planned to generate awareness about different kinds of literacies, and to inspire students, parents & staff members to practice any literacy-related activities (like reading, poetry, storytelling, discussions, etc.) in their daily routine.
The celebrations had storytelling sessions, trivia, discussions, spelling bee contest along with many games and activities that allured young minds to experience a stimulating literary journey. Students from various classes were mixed and divided into two large groups for the Spelling Bee Contest —The Infinity Goals & The Awesome Foursome, where they took turns to try their hands at attempting a variety of words, with difficulty levels increasing with every round.
The third week saw an interesting ‘Sit with your book’ game that was organized in The Infinity School’s duplex library, but with a twist! Bearing resemblance with the ‘musical chair’—a staple in birthday parties, teachers asked kids to run around the couches that had fiction books on them. The kids had to occupy the nearest couch, as soon as the music stopped. Little ones left no stone unturned to reach the couches that had their favorite books. The books were then issued to them for a light weekend reading.
‘Twist in the tale’ was another intriguing event planned in the fourth week. Teachers narrated the tale of Cinderella and a chapter from children’s favorite book Harry Potter. Following the storytelling session, students had to mix up characters, plots & episodes from both books to weave ‘Jab Harry met Cinderella,’ i.e., their version of fairy-tale, in which all the characters from both the stories existed in the same timeline, and encountered several adventures together. Many pre-schoolers from across preschools in Greater Noida visited The Infinity School campus to enjoy storytelling sessions and literacy-related events organized under the theme— ‘Spreading literacy, one book, one child at a time.' With this in mind, educators vowed to foster the love for reading in students, while children decided to help communicate the importance of literacy to their friends and share their love of bedtime reading with their families. Photos, event details & literacy tips can be found across The Infinity School’s various social networks.
