PI's New Nanopositioning Systems Catalog

PI's New Nanopositioning Systems Catalog

PI, a leading manufacturer of nanopositioning stages & precision motion-control equipment for bio-medical, semiconductor, imaging & nanotechnology applications, releases a new nanopositioning catalog.

The 160-page catalog focuses on piezo flexure based nanopositioning systems capable of repeatedly moving distances as small as the diameter of an atom. It covers single axis stages, XY and XYZ stages as well as tip/tilt platforms for active optics, imaging and laser beam steering. Parallel kinematic positioners (2-axis systems to complex 6-axis hexapods) and novel hybrid systems as well as ceramic precision linear motors are also shown.

A nanopositioning controller section discusses software, explains interfacing options and different digital servo control models and algorithms that increase linearity in static and dynamic applications.

The catalog can be downloaded at:

Noliac provides the precision for your nanopositioning system
Nanopositioning systems often rely on piezoelectric actuators to ensure the very fine positioning with sub-nanometer resolution. This is the case in high frequency nanopositioning, where a small displacement amplitude with a fast response is required. How high frequency nanopositioning works High frequency nanopositioning employs piezoelectric actuators with direct action. This means, that the actuator is directly pushing the platform without any conversion or amplification mechanism, which would drag the first resonance down.
Compact, Digital Motion Controller for Nanopositioning
The single channel E-709 piezo controller from Physik Instrumente (PI) has been already introduced for piezo-based positioners and scanners which use strain sensors. Since the majority of the nanopositioning systems from PI employ such sensors, the E-709 allows significantly lower system costs in comparison to the digital controllers offered up until now. The biggest differences between the digital and analog controllers are that you can influence all parameters directly through calculation
piezo microscope objective fine positioner series MIPOS for nanopositioning

The MIPOS series feature a motion of up to 500µm for the microscope objective in combination with nanometer accuracy. The design, which the incorporates a pre-load of the actuator, permits a high resonant frequency of up to 410 Hz and high parallel travel, as
New nanopositioning stage for micropositioning
piezosystem jena has expanded its PXY series and introduces an XY plane nanopositioning and microscanning stage featuring a wide center clearance. The PXY 201 CAP offers a clearance of 30x30mm² and a motion range of up to 250 microns in open loop and up to 200 microns in closed loop. The PXY 201 CAP can be equipped with an integrated high resolution capacitive feedback sensor. Creep and hystersis can be compensated
Miniaturized measurement system for nanopositioning of positioning stages
piezosystem jena developed an actuator with an integrated measurement system. As with other systems from piezosystem jena, the actuator enables high-precision positioning. The advantage of the integrated measurement system compared to conventional systems is the removal of a separate electronics assembly. This is now included in the actuator. For that a new development of a temperature compensated actuator mechanics was necessary. A further advantage is improved resolution, thanks to
