Transport carrier chooses quality test system from Vierling

Ebermannstadt, Germany . MR.NET, a transport carrier based in Flensburg, Germany, is now using Vierling’s TiQoS platform (Testing in Quality of Service) to ensure that it delivers consistently high-quality services. TiQoS allows continuous end-to-end quality tests in IP-based networks and classic telecommunications and data networks (time division multiplexing, TDM). MR.NET has installed ten TiQoS remote test units (RTUs) throughout Germany, including five RTUs in its own network and five in customer networks.

Voice quality from the customer’s perspective
MR.NET provides services ranging from termination to end-user invoicing to providers of voice and multimedia services throughout Germany. Using TiQoS, MR.NET can monitor the transmission quality through its own transit network. More importantly, the company can detect disruptions promptly and take action as required. TiQoS performs network and voice quality tests based on voice calls that the system makes between different RTUs. The RTUs are installed in MR.NET’s network and in customer networks. TiQoS RTUs are connected like end users to make it possible to assess voice quality from the customer’s perspective.

Powerful and reliable
“TiQoS allows us to continuously monitor the quality of our networks”, explained Horst Bülck, managing director of MR.NET. “We can also offer dependable and neutral data to our customers to clearly reveal the sources of any quality issues. The Vierling solution includes powerful test programs that are tailored to our needs to deliver precise, dependable results.”

Future expansion
Bülck believes in the future growth potential of MR.NET and intends to continue working with Vierling: “MR.NET is a provider of quality services in the area of triple play. Vierling was able to provide us with very powerful technology and get it up and running in only two days. As our network grows, we will continue to expand the TiQoS system.”
