Analog Vierling GSM gateway now HiPath Ready
Vierling Ecotel GSM3-3x certified for Siemens HiPath systemsEbermannstadt, Germany. Siemens Enterprise Communications has now successfully completed testing of Vierling's analog GSM gateway Ecotel GSM3-3x and awarded HiPath Ready certification to the gateway. The Ecotel GSM3-3x is used as an accessory for Siemens HiPath communication systems in small- to medium-sized companies and especially in international markets where analog telephone lines are used predominantly. With the HiPath Ready certification of the Ecotel GSM3-3x, Siemens Enterprise Communications and Vierling are continuing to expand their technology partnership. Until now, the digital Vierling Ecotel GSM gateways of type Ecotel ISDN2-x and the VoIP-GSM gateways of type Ecotel VoIP-1x were the focus of the partnership.
Global technology partner to Siemens Enterprise Communications for GSM gateways
“Siemens Enterprise Communications enters into technology partnerships for all of the major accessory products related to Siemens HiPath communication systems. We regularly certify these partner products so that we can offer solutions that are 100 percent dependable to our customers”, said Dr. Udo Bochum, Head of Partner Management at Siemens Enterprise Communications. “With the successful certification of the analog Vierling Ecotel GSM3-3x GSM gateways, we are further expanding our partnership with Vierling. Vierling is our global technology partner for GSM gateways in conjunction with Siemens HiPath communication systems.”
Reducing telephone costs, last mile via GSM
The analog GSM gateway Ecotel GSM3-3x has one GSM channel and one SIM card slot. It can be connected to analog local loop and extension ports of Siemens HiPath communication systems to reduce the cost of making telephone calls. The Ecotel GSM3-3x takes costly landline-to-mobile calls and turns them into cost-effective mobile-to-mobile calls. The Ecotel
GSM3-3x can also be used to provide the last mile connection via GSM: The gateway can connect entire Siemens HiPath communication systems to the global telecommunications infrastructure via mobile radio. The Ecotel GSM3-3x also provides a port for an analog fax machine and a data connection via mobile radio. This eliminates the need for fixed network lines.
Solutions for small companies and international markets
Vierling GSM gateways can be integrated into Siemens HiPath systems of any size. “So far, we have mostly sold ISDN-GSM and VoIP-GSM gateways of types Ecotel ISDN2-x and Ecotel VoIP-1x with one to eight channels directly to Siemens Enterprise Communications and to their channel partners. These gateways are intended primarily for medium and large companies”, said Dr. Markus Diehl, Director Sales Marketing at Vierling. “With the single-channel analog GSM gateway Ecotel GSM3-3x, we can now also target small companies and especially the international markets where analog telephone lines predominate.”
