Security testing as a service at RSA 2019

achelos presents new business model for remote testing and automated TLS and IKE/IPsec test suites

San Francisco/Paderborn, March 4, 2019 – From March 4 to 8, achelos GmbH will be presenting security test suites, solutions and services at the RSA Conference 2019 in San Francisco (USA). The RSA has grown strongly in recent years and established itself as the leading international trade fair for IT security in the US and beyond. The security experts from Paderborn are exhibiting on the German Pavilion together with 22 German companies and institutions in the North Exhibit Hall D, booth 5671. The IT Security Association Germany (TeleTrusT) is initiator of the German participation and was selected to be part of political activities within the context of the German-American Friendship Year 2019 ("Wunderbar together").

The fear of cyber attacks is increasing
The Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has reported a significant increase in the number of malicious program variants in the 2018 report on IT security in Germany. There are over 800 million malicious programs and around 380,000 new variants are added every day.

New remote testing service is fostering new business models
achelos introduces a new remote testing service at RSA. “By purchasing test days, the new business model can be used very flexible and cost-effective to prepare audits,” explains Kathrin Asmuth, managing partner by achelos, the new offer. A generic remote client interface makes it easy to adapt new test targets. A new display function of test aspects helps to quickly evaluate test results. Customers benefit from a growing number of available test cases and test suites, simple user administration and requirement for a local installation.

Visitors of the RSA can see the new remote testing solution from achelos live at the fair and convince themselves of the intuitive operation of the web services based user interface. The TLS remote Testing Service is based on existing standards and requirements and accelerates the execution of new tests.

Security aspects in IoT connectivity - German Panel Session 2019
How to architect and validate security aspects for IoT devices connected via mobile networks will be presented by Heinfried Cznottka, Director Business Development, achelos. The speech gives an overview of the security architecture, the security mechanisms and the challenges faced to guarantee the end-to-end security of the environment from the IoT device to the remote provisioning software. The achelos expert will give an example of a vendor independent implementation requiring a more comprehensive security management.
