BITS Pilani Alumnus Dr Kanak Madrecha from Dubai gifts his Alma mater INR Half a Million at Ruby Jubilee Reunion

Based in Dubai, Dr Kanak Madrecha, Principal Consultant / Managing Director (Dr Kanak Madrecha & Associates FZ LLE) and President (Global Development, Supply Chain & Logistics Group/SCLG) is a world class leader and professional in business excellence and supply chain & logistics. He has the distinction of getting honored by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai several times for his notable leadership contributions to business excellence movement in emirate of Dubai / UAE.

Dr Kanak has been also awarded by several organizations for his leadership contributions to business excellence field in UAE / GCC. He is the only excellence advisor in UAE who has supported 39 large & reputed organizations from public, private and government sector in UAE to win 80 prestigious excellence awards in UAE during last 18 years. He also led assessment of 100+ external and 5 internal excellence awards.

His experience spanning 37 years include at Mumbai Philips India, NITIE and Siemens Information System as well as at Dubai the Kanoo Group - UAE & Oman, DP World-UAE Region and Municipality of Abu Dhabi City. He has played a stellar role in Supporting Dubai / Abu Dhabi Government in its Excellence Movement by being Past Jury for Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA), Dubai Quality Award (DQA) and Dubai Human Development Award (DHDA) as well as Assessor for Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Business Award (MRMBA) and International Business Excellence Award.

He holds a MTech and Ph.D., Industrial Engineering from NITIE Mumbai and above all he is a Proud to be BITSian with a B.E. (Hons) Mechanical Engineering from one among the top ranking and Institution of Excellence Birla Institute of Technology and Science - BITS Pilani.

Along with 91 batch mates who studied with him during 1974 – 1979 at Pilani campus, Kanak attended the Ruby Jubilee Celebrations RJR scheduled during 22-24 Feb 2019. Beaming with pride, he said that it was BITS Pilani education which transformed him from Vallabhnagar (near Udaipur) Govt School educated a simple village boy to what he is today. As a matter of fact, this batch had celebrated its Silver Jubilee Reunion SJR in 2004 during Oct 1-3 and has the reputation for triggering the race for large SJR turnout at Pilani year after year

On 23 Feb 2019, the Vice Chancellor BITS Pilani Dr Souvik Bhattacharyya made an appeal to alumni assembled for RJR to contribute liberally for the construction of state of the art world class Alumni Home in Pilani campus. To a thunderous round of applause, Dr Kanak Madrecha immediately gave a bank cheque for Rs 500,000/- for the same. He is also open for being an Adjunct faculty for his Alma mater to overcome the faculty shortages.

The Movers and Shakers of the 74-79 batch CS Goel, Mukesh Asija, Rajiv Milind, Ajay Gupta, Anil Lodha and Sudipto who organized the Ruby Jubilee Reunion are planning for the GJR Golden Jubilee Reunion in 2024 in a grander scale.

When it comes to Alumni Alma mater connect, BITS Pilani undoubtedly is no way less than the Ivy league institutions. Unlike many other institutions, the alumni of BITS do not believe in resting in the glory of their Alma mater but passionately believe in adding glory to their Alma mater by their achievements and contributions.
