FEM supplies Manitowoc’s new energy saving EC2 Series ice

New eco-friendly ice machines cost less to run

Ice machines are essential pieces of back-bar kit in pubs, clubs and other catering venues – customers expect their cold drinks to be served with mountains of ice. But often in smaller establishments where space is limited and economy of operation essential, an ice machine may be viewed as an expensive optional extra – not least because of its running costs.
Manitowoc’s new, energy saving, compact EC2 Series undercounter icemakers, now available from Foodservice Equipment Marketing (FEM), have been engineered to be 30 per cent more energy efficient than previous models, cutting down energy consumption and costs considerably.
With an integral storage bin, smooth stainless steel finish, and textured ABS accents the EC2 machines are designed to look smart behind the bar or in front-of-house areas. They have front venting for both air intake and exhaust, so no side clearance is necessary, making installation in the tightest of spaces possible.
The EC2 Series machines make hard, 33mm x 34mm, octagonal thimbles of crystal-clear ice. A highly efficient horizontal spray bar evaporator system removes impurities from the ice before it freezes to improve ice quality and produce slow-melting cubes that keep drinks colder for longer periods of time.
Their integral storage bin has a space-saving, sliding up and over door for easy access and to protect the ice from contamination during operation. Daily ice production ranges from 18kg for the smallest EC18 to 80 kg for the EC80 with storage capacities from 5.5kg to 45kg respectively.

FEM supplies the Manitowoc ice machines with a two-year parts and labour warranty on all EC Series components.
