Versatile Security & School’s owner returns from mission in Haiti & gears up for 5th Anniversary

As a community activist, humanitarian, and business owner, Ms. Roselia Julien wears multiple hats. As a business owner, her career in security began in 1987. It takes a valiant individual to strive for a goal for sixteen years before arriving at the finish line. But in her case, it was the beginning of a new chapter. After working as a security guard for 16 years, Julien established Versatile Security and School in late 2005. To her clients, Versatile provides a customer-orientated and experienced agency that is dedicated to protecting their assets. To their students, Versatile is a one-stop career shop. They assist each student from beginning to end of the process to becoming a licensed guard. By providing passport photos, fingerprints, having a notary in the facility, and submitting all completed forms to state department, everyone has equal opportunity to succeed.

As a humanitarian and community activist, January 12, 2010 was a day she will never forget. Millions of lives, including Julien’s were changed forever when a massive earthquake hit the island of Haiti. Julien, owner and operator of Versatile Security soared into action. January 14, only two days after the disaster, Julien left for her native soil to aid in the recovery. Julien volunteered with the American Red Cross and military services for two weeks. Translating for wounded victims, offering spiritual and emotional support was amongst the task completed while in Haiti.

Now that Julien has returned to Miami, Florida, she is gearing up to celebrate her fifth consecutive year in business. Regardless of predestined statistics, Versatile Security & School is a business that will continually defeat the odds. According to the SBA, two-thirds of new businesses survive for at least two years, and only 44 percent survive at least four years. Versatile Security & School is gearing up for their 5th anniversary this December, and looking forward to several more.
