Icreon Explores Business Opportunities in Australia

Sydney, Australia - December 14, 2009 – Icreon, a leading IT services, business solutions and outsourcing company, as part of the NASSCOM Delegation recently visited Australia to from 14 – 17 December 2009 to explore business opportunities in the region. Keeping in view the continuous growth of the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) industry, which has become all pervasive and intrinsic to our very existence; the primary objective was to meet the trade bodies in Australia to increase business relations through partnership and alliances.

In Sydney, Icreon representatives, upon discussions with Australian Trade explored Australian IT opportunities and gained insights on the legalities involved in acquiring companies or hiring local talents for our organizational growth. In addition, the visit to the Wollongong University helped discover the advantages of incubation centers, which include spontaneous access to the bright student community, and the fact that the operational costs in the area are half to that of Sydney.

For Sadasivan Narayanan, AVP Sales at Icreon, “the summit provided a platform to interact and exchange ideas on latest trends, including role of E-governance, Sustainability & Green IT, and Convergence with entrepreneurs, with other service providers and industry leaders not only in Australia, but also in the countries of other visiting delegates. Moreover, it also offered us the chance to discuss about Icreon version 1.0 service, on how it could benefit start-ups, and other IT services offered by Icreon, with prospective clients and partners.”

The representatives also participated in APDIS/ASOCIO Summit, a platform to facilitate technology exchange, ICT innovation, collaboration, trade partnerships and business for venture capitalists and investors, ICT innovators and entrepreneurs, from 25 economies, represented by 37 associations.

Hence, the summit provided an opportunity to discuss how corporate entities and governments can use ICT to improve their ability to address the needs of the society in a more cost-efficient, effective, inclusive and transparent manner. In addition, it also focused on key issues like the need of modernisation of legacy systems in the public sector; investing in newer and greener hardware and services to lower energy consumption and costs; and tapping the expanding mobile and broadband network market, which is intrinsic to Icreon’s strategic growth.

The tour culminated with the APICTA Awards Gala Dinner, where the best of the Asia Pacific joined Australian ICT industry and government, including Minister for Financial Services and Information and Communication Technology, Mr. John Lenders.
