Photo Studio of German Mail Order Giant OTTO Gears Up with ACOLENS
Hamburg, November 2, 2006 – The internal photo studio of Germany’s leading mail order group OTTO now optimizes its pictures with ACOLENS, the professional tool for correction of optical image deficiencies. The studio headed by Thomas Krull produces with 40 employees many thousand images per year for OTTO’s mail order catalogues and internet shops. With the arise of the digital revolution OTTO’s studio is increasingly using digital SLRs. Since the quality of the images is crucial for selling the products they display successfully, optical deficiences like distortions, vignetting or focus falloff toward the edges so far had to be corrected manually on screen. “With ACOLENS this work can now be done much faster and through the software’s lens calibration approach it is most importantly done based on objective criteria“, says Thomas Krull highly satisfied with the new product.
Thomas Krull became aware of the new technology at the photography fair “Photokina” in Cologne where ACOLENS was introduced and awarded with the ”Star-Award – Highlight of Photokina 2006“ by Germany’s well known photography journals digit! and PhotoPresse. The presentation by Nurizon’s chief developer Sebastian Schröder convinced him. A second presentation at OTTO’s headquarters also convinced his colleagues and the use of ACOLENS was an instant go. “We are very happy about this success. With such a highly reputable company like OTTO we have a new and important endorser on our side“, explains Sebastian von Meer, Managing Director and speaker of Nurizon.
