Publishing house „Verlag Otto Sagner“ becomes „Biblion Media“

Munich/Leipzig, 6 October 2015 – Kubon & Sagner has now established its publishing house „Verlag Otto Sagner“ (VOS) as an independent entity: With immediate effect the Leipzig branch, as Biblion Media, has taken over all commercial publications of VOS. Biblion Media is a contemporary publishing house, founded by Kubon & Sagner as part of its profile enhancement.

Kubon & Sagner now views itself as a purely international agency serving libraries; a differentiated and competent provider for specialized information from Eastern Europe: e-content, periodicals and newspapers, books.

Biblion Media is the step into a new era: Contemporary and future-oriented scientific publications in an international setting. This is Biblion Media’s mission: Focusing on digital and hybrid publication while building up an international publishing platform. „Biblion Media marks the kick-off into a new era. Digital publishing is the future – internationally and through a publishing platform. The classic publishing landscape is evolving dramatically. Of course, Biblion Media continues to serve as a classic provider for traditional print publications by utilizing an extremely flexible and high-quality print-on-demand procedure (POD). At the same time, Biblion Media, in lieu of „Verlag Otto Sagner“ will remain true to its heritage as the No. 1 Eastern Europe specialist, and the trustworthy and competent specialized information service provider.

As a result of the change-over to Biblion Media, publishing house „Verlag Otto Sagner“ has decided to terminate the long-standing cooperation with one of its editors Prof. Dr. Peter Rehder. VOS explicitly wants to thank Prof. Rehder for his sustainable commitment.

The change-over to Biblion Media offers all necessary perspectives for digital humanities-related publishing to editors and their authors.
