MarTech On A Mission: Aidbox - an Email Signature Tool that Helps

Aidbox is a free and easy tool that allows everyone with an email address to support causes they care about. It turns an email signature into a tool for raising awareness and funds for charity. Paste it into your signature once, and your email will start supporting a cause that you care about.

The idea behind Aidbox, as written by Daniel Lundh, CEO:

“I have always been driven to find business solutions that make a positive impact on the world. In the U.S. alone, $390 billion was donated to charity last year, 72 percent of that was donated by individuals and 67 percent of U.S. households donated to charity. These numbers are truly outstanding! But we’ve found that even when people donate, they often feel like they want to do more. I wanted to find a solution -- a way to contribute without making more demands on people’s time or money. I was thinking about the campaign that started about 20 years ago where everyone had “please don’t print this email, save the trees” in their email signature. I realized we could modernize the same concept. Email is such an important part of our work and personal lives even now, and I wanted to leverage that in a way that benefited nonprofits, businesses, and individuals. My idea created a way to raise money by allowing corporations to sponsor each message.”

If a large number of businesses come together to adopt the use of tools like Aidbox, there could be a huge social impact. Daniel shares some thoughts on how a simple movement through an email signature could 'change the world’? “The expression “no-one can do everything but everyone can do something” is written on our wall. This work is the reason we wake up in the morning because we know that with enough partners and users we can truly make a difference. When we have 100,000 users, Aidbox would raise $15,000,000 for charity partners every year. Add to that the awareness we’re able to build. I believe that it will make huge social impact.”
“We believe that this tool can change the world. Our goal is to add multiple charity partners to our platform in the next couple of years. We’d like to have a charity for each major cause from world hunger to saving endangered species. We are also focused on growing are user base to more than 100,000 users. There are so many great organizations that need our support and the more people who start using Aidbox, the more we can help.”
