MindTree joins WiMAX Forum

MindTree Consulting, an international IT and R&D Services company, today announced that it has joined the WiMAX Forum. The WiMAX Forum is an international, industry-led, non-profit corporation formed to promote and certify the conformance and interoperability of broadband wireless access (BWA) products using the IEEE 802.16 and ETSI HiperMAN wireless MAN specifications. The Forum and its member companies collaborate to accelerate the introduction of these systems into the marketplace.

As a member of the WiMAX Forum, MindTree will be able to contribute significantly in the development and adoption of standards. MindTree will also gain access to the detailed specifications of this new wireless technology.

MindTree will provide design engineering and value-added testing services in this broadband wireless product space to silicon vendors, original device manufacturers and equipment vendors. As newer services and products are adopted, MindTree is investing in building a test infrastructure and pre-built test libraries to speed up the testing process for WiMAX products and reference designs.

“We believe that WiMAX technology is poised for heavy deployment and high mainstream acceptance. This adoption will drive the pace of new services and product development. As a WiMAX Forum member, we will be able to enhance our understanding of the technology through active participation. By creating the Pre-Engineered Test offerings, MindTree aims to help our clients drastically reduce their time to market and at the same time increase their product quality,” said MindTree Consulting President and CEO, R&D Services, Janakiraman S.

MindTree provides design-engineering services to customers building products for the service provider markets. These products include CPEs, Media gateways, DSLAMs, Session Border Controllers, IMS gateways and front node systems. These include development of complete systems, hardware boards, Data plane software on network processors, L2/L3 software integration, Element Management solutions and complete reference designs. These services are applicable for players building equipment for the WiMAX market.
