MindTree Starts a New Office in the Heart of London

Signifies further growth and investment in the U.K. Market

London, June 3, 2010: Director of the London School of Economics and former Deputy Governor of the Bank of England Sir Howard Davies, inaugurated the new offices of global IT solutions company MindTree in Bishopsgate in the heart of London.

MindTree earlier had an office in Ealing, West London since 2003. In the UK, several FTSE 100 brands in the Banking, Consumer Packaged Goods and Travel industry have chosen MindTree as their IT service partner.

Speaking at the opening ceremony Sir Howard Davies said, “I welcome MindTree to the heart of London. Despite the recent political and some recent financial uncertainties the climate for business is good and I think there are clear opportunities for MindTree to continue to develop and grow its business here.”

MindTree’s Executive Chairman Ashok Soota, who was present at the ceremony, said, “Our UK journey has been one of success, which is due both to UK companies recognizing and being ready to embrace the widespread benefits that IT outsourcing can deliver and also due to the unique positioning that MindTree, as a mid-sized and more agile company, is able to bring to its clients.”

MindTree’s UK Head Tridip Saha said, “This new office is a signal of MindTree’s intent to further strengthen our offerings to UK-based clients. We believe that this move will act as a springboard for further growth and investment as we continue to build MindTree as the next generation offshore IT service provider and a credible alternative to the existing players in the UK.”

Sir Howard Davies is director of the London School of Economics and Political Science. Prior to his current appointment he was chairman of the Financial Services Authority, the UK's single financial regulator since 1998.
Howard Davies had previously served for two years as Deputy Governor of the Bank of England after three years as Director General of the Confederation of British Industry. He also worked for McKinsey & Company, where he was seconded to the Treasury as Special Adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer, and at the Treasury and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, including two years as Private Secretary to the British Ambassador in Paris.
He attended Merton College, Oxford and in 1979 he was awarded a Harkness Fellowship and in 1980 took an MSc in management sciences at Stanford Graduate School of Business, California.
