HPG Partner Heather Dean is Recognized for Career Successes
Presented 40 Under 40 Award by The Triangle Business JournalRALEIGH, N.C. (June 18, 2009)—Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP (hpg.com), the largest locally owned and managed, independent CPA firm in North Carolina, congratulates Heather Dean on receiving 40 Under 40 recognition from the Triangle Business Journal as one of the area's most influential and highly accomplished young leaders.
"Heather continually provides timely and personalized service to her clients leading to her being named the youngest partner at HPG in 2008," says Brooks Malone, HPG partner on behalf of the firm.
Dean joined Hughes Pittman & Gupton, LLP in January 2005 and became partner in 2008. She manages the firm's corporate tax practice, working with clients in a variety of industries including biomedical and pharmaceutical, software and technology development, manufacturing, and venture funds.
"Heather is always looking at the bigger picture in every situation she encounters, trying to find ways that she can help advance her clients, colleagues and friends," says Sean King, partner at Williams Mullen, in his nomination of Dean. "We have worked together in Raleigh for several years, and throughout this time I have been amazed at the never-ending initiative and drive that she embodies."
In addition to peer recognition, leadership in their organization and significant career milestones, the panel of independent judges looks for candidates with substantial community involvement. The Raleigh Boys & Girls Club is one of several organizations at which Dean has volunteered. Her inspired dedication has earned her an award of recognition from the club.
40 Under 40 winners are featured in a special section of the TBJ. They also receive recognition at an awards luncheon attended by peers, previous winners and other local executives. The 2009 luncheon was held Friday, May 1, at the Crabtree Marriott in Raleigh with 350 people in attendance.
