Orlando East and Avalon Park Rotary Clubs Support Second Harvest Food Bank with Charity Golf Tournament

Orlando East and Avalon Park Rotary Clubs to hold 9th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Stoneybrook on Friday, April 17, 2009

Orlando, FL – For the 9th year, the Rotary Clubs of Orlando East and Avalon Park are holding their Charity Golf Tournament at Stoneybrook. All proceeds of the tournament go toward funding of charitable activities of Rotary and for the first time they are selecting a local charity to share in the proceeds of the tournament. This year, the Rotary Clubs have chosen to honor the work of Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida in east Orange County.

The tournament will be held at Stoneybrook East Golf Club on Friday, April 17, 2009. Registration will begin at 11:30am and tournament starts at 1pm. The format will consist of a four person Best Ball scramble, including games of skill, longest drive, and closest to pin on all par 3 holes.

This event is made possible by sponsorship support from Publix Super Markets Charities and others. Additionally, Publix has provided customer-purchased grocery bags to be distributed to deserving families in east Orange County.

The vision of Second Harvest Food Bank is creating a hunger-free central Florida. Working with 450 partner agencies in six Central Florida counties, this non-profit organization collects, stores and distributes donated food to needy persons and families in Central Florida.
