M8x1 I/O-junctions with active logic-function.

M8x1 I/O-junctions with active logic-function.

Halver, 27 September 2017 – The connectivity specialist ESCHA is again presenting a world premiere at this year’s SPS IPC Drives. In Hall10, Stand 414 of the Nuremberg tradeshow booth, the new M8x1 I/O-junctions with active logic-function in various versions will be on display for the first time. These are extremely compact devices; placing intelligence close to sensors transmitting preprocessed signals to a central control unit. The individual slots are thereby linked by means of various fixed combinations of AND- and OR-logic. Moreover, ESCHA is repeatedly showing supplements to its standard product portfolio as well as interesting modification products and custom-made developments at the trade show.

M8x1 I/O-junctions with active logic-function

In order to facilitate a safe and reliable connection between conventional passive I/O-junctions and control units, multi-pole cables are needed. In case of fieldbus junctions, shielded cables are even required. In contrast, I/O-junctions with active logic-function provide the advantage of defaulting to a common-, unshielded 4- or 5-pole sensor cable that can also be installed much more flexibly than a comparable rigidly shielded cable. In this way, wiring costs as well as wiring time are reduced and wiring errors are averted.

Due to their extremely compact housing style and their low weight, the new ESCHA M8x1 I/O-junctions with active logic-function are especially adapted for applications with limited space conditions like grippers, robots or compact handling units. The junctions can be installed in various assembly situations through several mounting holes. Identification labels on all slots facilitate marking and allocation.

ESCHA offers the new M8x1 I/O-junctions with active logic-function in 4-way-, 8-way-, and 10-way versions with various fixed combinations of AND- and OR-logic. The junctions do not have to be programmed by the user due to a predefined logic and can thus be immediately operational. A switching status display per channel and an LED-display for the logic output provide a quick overview of key functions. All junctions meet IP65 and IP67 requirements.

Standard, Special, Tailor-made

In addition to the mentioned tradeshow premiers, ESCHA is also introducing novelties within its comprehensive standard product portfolio at the SPS IPC Drives including RJ45-patchcords with right-angled grip body facilitating safe and reliable data transmission according to Cat5e. Besides, ESCHA is showing a new variant of its UL-approved PVC-control cable, which is also now available in black jacket in addition to the previous grey. Of course, ESCHA is displaying lots of interesting modification- and development projects as well. Tradeshow visitors may get information on all these topics on Stand 414 in Hall 10.
