The Center for Business and Technology Development and TargetGov announce the Government Contracting Institute, a comprehensive series of in-person classes for the business person who wants to become a successful government contractor. The Introduction to Government Contracting kicks off the series and a full range of Certification, Registrations, Business Development, Proposal Writing, Contract Management, Accounting, Legal Issues and Security Clearances seminars are taught by experts in the field of government contracting.

Attendees will learn how to do business with the government, get certified as a minority, veteran, service-disabled veteran, disadvantaged, woman-owned or simply "small" business and open doors to millions, in contract opportunities.

Participants will learn the required registrations, the basics of contracting law, rules, and the key players involved in contracting; the basics of certification: what is certification, who qualifies, what certifications are available at the federal, state and county government levels, what are the benefits, what is the process to get certified, and what agencies use certified companies; how to obtain opportunities via BRAC; understand the different contract types, differences and challenges associated with each type as well as identifying the stakeholders associated with the contracts and dealing with their expectations; obtain the information businesses need to know about the GSA schedule process and how to obtain the contract; government cost accounting standards, pricing strategies, discussion of software applications including QuickBooks and other alternatives and audit preparation; and what a security clearance is, who is qualified to receive a clearance, types of clearances, the procedures and much, much more.
