Compumatica provides encryption with higher throughput by means of CompuCrypt XL

Aachen, February, 16th 2009.- Customers‘ demands for faster encryption of large data volumes is fulfilled by the new CompuCrypt XL. Moreover, the new product developed by Compumatica secure networks also provides package filtering.

The product families CryptoGuard VPN, CryptoWall and CompuWall developed by Compumatica secure networks provide users with a reliable diversity of solutions concerning data encryption. However, up to now the throughput had been limited to 1 Gbps.

Yet, especially agencies, banks, insurances and industrial enterprises want to transfer larger and larger amounts of secured data. Since encryption and decryption of these data should anyway take place as fast as possible to ensure a real-time data processing, Compumatica secure networks developed CompuCrypt excellent (XL) which is able to encrypt data with a throughput of up to 10 Gbps.

Data encryption by means of CompuCrypt XL is based on the approved CryptoGuard operating mode but is totally geared towards hardware crypto systems for optimal performance. CompuCrypt XL is a multifunctional black box which, besides from data encryption, also operates package filtering on layers 2 (data link layer), 3 (network layer) and 4 (transport layer ) of the OSI Model. The management concept is SmartCard based and therewith very user friendly. For administration no physical connection between the CompuCrypt Management Station and CompuCrypt XL is necessary which turns out to be very practical in many situations. CompuCrypt XL is transparent for both users and applications.

As a matter of course, the firm philosophy of Compumatica “everything is strictly prohibited, unless it’s explicitly allowed” also holds for CompuCrypt XL.
