Abstract:
In 2015, the value of wet corn production in the U.S. amounted to $11.9B, coming down by -7.8% against the previous year level. Overall, the U.S. wet corn output pursued a modest decline from 2007 to 2015. The total output figures decreased at an average annual rate of -0.4%. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011, when the output figure increased by +15% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the total value of wet corn shipments in the United States attained its maximum level of $16.7B in 2013. Afterwards, the growth in terms of the wet corn production failed to regain its strength through to 2015.

Corn sweeteners, made by wet milling accounted for the highest share (46% in 2015) of U.S. wet corn manufacturing, leaving a considerable room for wet process corn by-products, made by wet milling (23%). The other related products with less notable individual shares together comprised approx. 31% of the total output.
