Lecture by Proud to be BITSian Dilip Gandhi at BITS Pilani
Members of every major religion undertake pilgrimages and for the alumni of BITS Pilani which is one among the top ranking universities in India today visiting their alma mater years after their graduation, is indeed a pilgrimage and a mission with passion.Mr. Dilip Gandhi based at Nagpur, Maharashtra has been a part of the polymer industry since past 25 years. He is the Managing Director of Suresh Polymers Pvt. Ltd. Nagpur Email: surewrap@gmail.com which has expertise in the manufacturing of Specialized Packaging Material for Industrial Use and waste disposal. He has a keen interest in sustainable development and was involved with the committee monitoring Plastic Ban in Maharashtra.
Dilip Gandhi is the President of Vidarbha Plastic Industries Association. In his spare time he does Consultancy, providing solutions related to polymer industry. He is a very active member of the BITS Alumni Association – BITSAA Nagpur Chapter. From his hectic schedule he chose 07 February 2009 to visit his alma mater BITS Pilani Rajasthan where he was a student during 1975 – 1980 and obtained his B.E. (Hons) Chemical Engineering.
BITSAA Pilani and Chemical Engineering Association organized a lecture by Dilip Gandhi in the Lecture Theatre Complex of the Institute at 3.00 Pm. In his lecture titled Plastics: Future Opportunities & Environmental Issues, Gandhi gave an overview of the Polymer Industry in India emphasizing on the career challenges, research potential, entrepreneurship avenues and Go Green ecological aspects. The lecture was followed by a question answer session.
Dilip Gandhi minced no words in thanking the broad based integrated and interdisciplinary education he received at BITS Pilani for achieving his entrepreneurial mission. He also showed keen interest in setting up a polymer testing laboratory at Pilani. The chemical engineering association of BITS Pilani presented him a memento.
For Proud to be BITSian Dilip Gandhi, his alma mater BITS Pilani is indeed close to his heart.
