Salud y Vida ¡NO CENIZAS!

(Health and Life NO ASHES!)

WHAT: On Wednesday, July 19th a diverse coalition of community groups from all Puerto Rico and USA will have a Rally at the Governor’s House (La Fortaleza) in Puerto Rico. The event will also have a twitter-storm to expand the voice of the Peñuelas Camp against Toxic Ashes in Peñuelas, Puerto Rico. We demand environmental justice, no more last-minute changes to the state laws that allow the abuse of our poor communities. We demand the Governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Roselló to follow on his promise to not allow toxic ashes to be deposited anywhere in the Archipelago of Puerto Rico. We demand accountability and media exposure of the injustices and horrors that private waste companies are perpetrating against disenfranchised communities. We demand an immediate stop and END to toxic ashes dumping. And we demand an end to an unsustainable energy plan that pollutes and kills our communities.

Who: Affected families and a diverse coalition of community groups from Puerto Rico and the USA.

WHERE: Governor’s House (La Fortaleza) in San Juan, Puerto Rico and Online via Twitter #PeñuelasSinCenizas #ToxicAshesKill

WHEN: Wednesday, July 19th at 6pm

We won’t sit back as EC Waste and AES Corp. poisons record numbers of our friends, family, and neighbors. We won’t sit back as they devalue our suffering and as they deny basic human rights and dignity. We won’t stop until the Governor of Puerto Rico stops using state police to criminalize our activists and disrupt our communities with militarized state. We won’t be quiet as private Waste companies such as EC Waste and AES Corp make astronomic profits while they poison our bodies. And we won’t continue to sit idle as they wreak havoc on our lives and communities.

From Women's March Florida, Women's March Florida- West Palm Beach "We stand against the environmental injustices and stand strong with all the marginalized communities whose bodies are literally being poisoned and while they suffer the unspeakable consequences of living in a poisoned zone.”

From Madres por Puerto Rico "Enviaremos un mensaje firme y contundente. Queremos un País donde nuestros hijos e hijas crezcan respirando aire puro, libre de contaminantes. No a las cenizas tóxicas".
