Bastian Kuhl won the award „TOP 25 career of Handelsblatt“ on 18th of November in Cologne, Germany. The jury attests him being one of the extraordinary young managers of Germany. He was the only candidate working for a non-profit-company.

The jury decided her choice concerning the following criteria: rapid promotion, success in business, ideal leadership behavior and responsible Acting. Bastian Kuhl fulfills all these points because he initiated the establishment of the College to teach management knowledge for students in Afghanistan in 2006.

“Today, I am very glad about this award, because the other candidates work for big companies like Microsoft, Postbank or Allianz”, Bastian Kuhl says. He is the only one among the TOP 25 career candidates working for a company that does not aim making profit. “Our top priority is to transfer high quality business knowledge to the young people of the war suffering country at the Hindukush. A long term and sustained reconstruction and an economical growth is only possible with educated Afghans”, the college president says.

It doesn´t mind him that he is not one of the first three prescinded managers. He says: “Our college is happy, because we could take a position among the TOP 25 candidates. I think this award is a great sign of respect and acknowledgement for our efforts and engagement we do in Afghanistan for the young Afghan people who see a prosperous future for Afghanistan and want to be an proactive and vital part of it.”

The jury looked for special candidates in Opposition to the other awards for Top-Managers of large corporations: Decision maker of the future and young hopeful high potentials of all management levels that have already reached something are chosen.

Kuhl and his crew could already reach a lot in the last years. 2007 the college won an United Nations award and became an official UNESCO project. In addition the AGMC has increased the number of students to 300 in two years. In 2009 the first students will successfully finish their studies.

The Afghan German Management College focuses in transferring business knowledge from Germany to Afghanistan. Temporary 300 afghan students study English Management terms. There are seven lecturers, including two women.
