Butler County and Muskingum County are first to experience

WORTHINGTON, OHIO – November 3, 2008 - Cott Systems announced today that two Ohio counties, Butler County and Muskingum County, are now utilizing resolution3, the newest land record system from Cott Systems. Butler County began using resolution3 on August 25th, 2008. Muskingum County’s system was implemented on September 29th. Both counties are already seeing the advantages of this new software.

Butler County was selected as the Ohio beta site for resolution3 because of their interest in new technologies. Butler County was one of the first counties in the state to accept electronically recorded documents.

“The Butler County Recorder’s Office is excited to be the first county in the nation to experience the new opportunities available to county recorders with resolution3”, said Denise Goll, Butler County Chief Deputy Recorder. “We knew that Cott was aggressively developing new products and services when we awarded them the contract for a new land records system for our office back at the end of 2006 – that is why we were so excited to see what was coming next. Resolution3 was definitely worth the short wait!”

The Muskingum County Recorder’s office has been a customer of Cott Systems since 1978 and has been one of the many excited counties to advance their office to Cott’s newest technologies as they are made available. “We heard about resolution3 initially from Cott at an Ohio user group meeting, but until we saw the system in action at a Butler County open house, we weren’t exactly sure what to expect”, said Karen Vincent, Muskingum County Recorder. “We now have so many options to adjust our office workflow for better optimization of resources, a great new public search portal that gives our customers more advanced searching features, and EasyIndex which will help us to become more accurate and efficient with our indexing, all this with the same great customer support we have come to love from Cott.”

Resolution3 is now available for the entire state of Ohio. The new system not only gives recorder’s offices a wide range of workflow options, it also helps them to be more accurate in their indexing of documents by using EasyIndex and OCR (optical character recognition) technology that verifies their work against a scanned image of the document being recorded. Resolution3 will also give county recorders the opportunity to utilize new optional technologies and services like AutoRedaction for social security numbers, eRecording, eBackup (Disaster Recover Service), eCommerce, and more.

Cott Systems, an innovator in public records management for over 120 years, is a leader today in technology solutions and services for recording, imaging, and searching land records across 22 states.
